Boban in Cyrillic Serbian Бобан, to pronounce in French, Boban (e), is the diminutive of Bogdan, Bogdan is a Slav name meaning "given by God" and corresponding strongly to the Greek Theodore, to the Hebrew Nathanael and Jonathan, in Latin Deodatus. Boban is a very young name, no more than 150 years old.
It is also found in Croatia (or it can be a family name), in Bosnia among the Serbs of the Serbian Republic of Bosnia and in the Croat minority of Bosnia. There is also in Macedonia in the Serbian minority and among Slavic Macedonians.
This name is unknown among the Bulgarians, however, Slavs of the south and other Slavic peoples. It is only found in the territory of the former Yugoslavia Popularity of first name in Franceedit code
