Josef Fahringer


Josef Fahringer is an Austrian entomologist, born December 21, 1876 in Vienna (Austria) and died on December 18, 1950 in that city.

He obtained a doctorate at the University of Vienna in 1904. He taught in high school in Vienna from 1904 to 1907, Brüx from 1907 to 1910, in Brno from 1910 to 1913 and again in Vienna from 1918 to 1936. He is principal from 1928.

He published the first modern monograph on braconids: Opuscula braconolocica (4 parts, 1925-1937). Specialist wasps, he published many articles on braconids and other parasitic Hymenoptera. edit code
