Josephus Jacobus Smits (Dommelen, July 25, 1764 - Eindhoven, November 30, 1850) is a former mayor of the Dutch city of Eindhoven. Smits was born as son of Jacobus Smits and Elisabeth Vermeulen and was a brother of the Eindhoven mayors Reinier Peter Smits and Johannes Theodorus Smits.
He was a merchant and manufacturer and in 1805-1806 Mayor of Eindhoven.
He married Eindhoven on August 25, 1793 with Maria Catharina van Berck, daughter of Joannes van Berck and Cornelia Smits, baptized in Eindhoven on September 3, 1764, buried in Eindhoven on October 24, 1798.
