Knut Johannes Steen (Oslo, 19 November 1924 - 22 September 2011) is a Norwegian sculptor, draftsman and graphic artist.

After his school time, he worked for a while as a dumpman. Because of tuberculosis, one of his lungs no longer functioned, he was disapproved for military service and continued the Second World War as a porter of a hospital.

After that, he embarked on the artistic level, focusing mainly on sculpting marble and bronze models. In addition, he was also active in making drawings and graphics.

Steen wrote an autobiography about his life, titled From Garbage to Marble. Since 1976 he lived in Carrara, Italy. Externe link
