After the Russo-Japanese War of 1905-04, Manchuria came under the control of the Japanese Empire, which in 1932 created the fantasy state of Manchukuo governed by the former Chinese Emperor Puyi. During these first years of existence, the health services are provided by the Japanese Red Cross and the Manchoukouo branch was founded on October 15, 1938, and existed until 1945 and the invasion of the Soviet Union then annexation by Communist China.
