Mission of Kolobeng


The Kolobeng Mission (in English: Kolobeng Mission) was built in 1847, it was the third and last mission of David Livingstone, missionary and explorer of Africa. In the country of Botswana, 3 kilometers (1.9 miles) west of Kumakwane and 25 kilometers (16 miles) west of Gaborone off the Thamaga-Kanye road. The mission owns a church and a school and was also the home of David Livingstone, his wife Mary Livingstone, and their children.

A fence was installed around the area in 1935, and the mission is conserved by the Department of the National Museum and Monuments under the Ministry of Environment, Wildlife and Tourism of Botswana.
