a Esmil

Esmila (Greek, Σμίλα) was an ancient Greek city on the Chalcidice peninsula. It is mentioned by Heródoto like one of the cities - next to Lipaxo, Combrea, Lisas, Gigono, Campsa and Enea- located in the proximities of the Termaico gulf, in a called region Crosea, near the peninsula of Palene where Xerxes recruited troops in his expedition of the year 480 a. C. against Greece.

Later the city belonged to the league of Delos since it appears in a list of tributes to Athens in 434/3 a. C. Its exact location is unknown.
