The Reverté publishing house was founded by Pedro Reverté Gil in 1947, in Barcelona, dedicated to the translation of books on the different branches of science. In the 1960s began its American expansion under the direction of the son of the founder, Felipe Reverté, and Juan Sala. In the mid-70s the company is going through a crisis so it is forced to close some of its branches in America. At the end of the 90s, and coinciding with the third generation of descendants of the foundation, new impulse is given to the edition of the scientific-technical book, incorporating new areas of knowledge (Architecture, Economics) always within the university environment, and editing contents in the new formats (e-book, complementary materials, etc ...)
Participate in the Enclave project established between the editors and the National Library of Spain.
His group includes Los Andes Libros S.L., a company specialized in publishing distribution, also based in Barcelona.
