The carnival quartet is a type of genuine carnival group from Cádiz.
Although its name suggests that it is composed of 4 components, the quartets in Cádiz can also be 3 and 5. They are accompanied with keys or sticks, whistles or güiros and occasionally a guitar. His repertoire consists of parody, cuplés and free theme. The highlight of the quartet is undoubtedly the parody, where they represent a situation where the different characters make laugh from the finest irony.
The official competition of carnival groups (COAC), is held at the Falla Grand Theater where the quartets share the stage with three other types of groups: the choirs, the chirigotas and the comparsas.
