International Safe Internet Day

Originally Safer Internet Day, this day is celebrated on the second Tuesday of February of each year since 2004 when it was proposed by the EU within the SafeBorders project and adopted by the Insafe network, since then it has been extended and is currently being held in more from 100 countries around the world Insafe is a European network of centers that promote a safer Internet, since 2016 named Better Internet for Kids.

The objective of this date is to promote and discuss the need to have a safer Internet, especially for girls, boys and adolescents. Every year from the official page of this program a theme is proposed on which to reflect under the idea that "Together we can make a better Internet". There is also a map that shows all the initiatives worldwide and allows you to register your own activities. It also offers training resources for young people and their families. The project had a website in Spanish until 2014.
