Tuur Bouchez


Arthur Joseph (Tuur) Bouchez (Grimbergen, November 15, 1898 - Brussels, February 28, 1965) was a Flemish actor. He was widely known in Flanders as Philidoor in the popular TV series Schipper next to Mathilde.

Bouchez was the son of a street maker. In 1918 he debuted at the scene at the local association Joy and Virtue. In 1926 he began to act at the Royal Flemish Theater in Brussels. From the Second World War he acted at the Royal Dutch Theater in Antwerp, but in 1952 he returned to the KVS.

His great breakthrough came to play the role of the handsome but staggering Philidoor in the Schipper television series next to Mathilde (1955-1963). He also played in the Prelude film until the dawn (1959) as Baron von Düsseldorf and the television series Veel Leven om niets (1959) and A Murder Story (1960).
