Bazaar of Anarkali

Anarkali Bazaar (in Urdu: اناركلى بازار) is an important bazaar (market) in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan. It is one of the oldest surviving markets in South Asia, dating back at least 200 years. It is located in the mall at 31 ° 74 ° 34'0N 18'58E with an altitude of 210 meters (692 feet) and also very close to the gate of Lahore Meo hospital. The market owes its name to a nearby mausoleum believed to be of a slave named Anarkali, buried alive by order of Mughal Emperor Akbar for having an illicit relationship with the emperor's son, Prince Salim, after becoming Emperor Jahangir.
