Dimitrios Golemis

Dimitrios (or Demetrius) P. Golemis (Greek: Δημήτριος Γολέμης; November 15, 1874 in Lefkada - January 9, 1941) was a Greek athlete who competed in the Olympic Games of Athens in 1896.

Golemis competed in the 800 meters. He finished second in his qualifying round, which gave him the pass to the final. It finished the race in the last position of the three finalists, among them Albin Lermusiaux of France, who defeated to Golemis in the qualifying series. Golemis' third place allowed him to obtain the bronze medal (retroactively assigned by the International Olympic Committee, due to the fact that the Athens Games in 1896 did not award the third place).

He also competed in the 1500 meters and finished approximately in the middle of the eight runners who took part of the test, but his exact position is not clear.
