Sakuya is the head maid of Scarlet Devil Mansion. She works for Remilia Scarlet and is apparently the only human working or living at the mansion. She has the power to stop time. She is known to take the opportunity to place knives before allowing time to resume, allowing the knives to resume their trajectory to their targets. Stopping time is also a convenient way to do a great deal of domestic work in a short time. Because almost all the inhabitants of the manor are servants, being their leader means that there are few people with more authority than Sakuya in the mansion.
During the events of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil, Sakuya tries to prevent the heroine from reaching her mistress to whom she is very loyal, but fails.
