Christian Democrat Party (Brazil)

The Christian Democratic Party (Portuguese Christian Democratic Party) was a political party in Brazil.

It was founded in São Paulo by Antônio Cesarino Júnior on July 9, 1945. It was dissolved by the military regime that ruled Brazil after the military coup of 1964. It was refounded, once the multiparty party was restored, disputing the elections of 1985 until 1993, to merge with the Social Democratic Party under the name Progressive Reform Party, then forming the current Progressive Party.
