Jordan Bonel de Confolens

Jordan Bonel manuscript

Jordan Bonel or Bonèl (twelfth century) was an Occitan troubadour, perhaps the same person as a Jordan of Confolens, Confolent or Cofolen, also known in the songbooks. His place of origin is probably in western Aquitaine , and his life declares that he was born in Saintonge and implies that he was contemporary with Bertran de Born, but the reliability of life is questioned (Jordan and Bertran seem to confuse, a mistake that has its origin in a false sense of the latter). true that was associated with the court of Alfonso II of Aragon.

Modern historians attribute three tediousness to him, but only one is attributed to him in the manuscripts. It is similar to the melodies of his contemporary Arnaut de Maruelh, but it is more conservative.
