Jorge Jobet


Jorge Jobet (Perquenco, Region of the Araucania, Chile, 1916 - Santiago, Chile, 1998) was a Chilean poet and journalist. He is one of the most prominent members of the Chilean literary spectrum of the 20th century.

He studied philosophy and literature, as well as Science of Education, and worked in teaching and journalism. He was director of the School of Journalism of Valparaiso, and in 1969 he received the first prize of the Inter-American Press Association. He participated in the creation, and was a member of the Santiago Athenaeum.

Some of his poems have been published under the pseudonym Claudio Indo. His poems are highlighted by the care put in the formal aspects of composition and the very diverse themes, ranging from the metaphysical lyric to the satirical-burlesque poetry. Works
