Vórtice Nielsen-Olesen

In theoretical physics, a Nielsen-Olesen vortex is a point object located in two spatial dimensions or, equivalently, a classical solution of the field theory with the same property. This particular solution occurs when the scalar field configuration space contains non-contractible circles. A circle in the vortex in infinity can be "wrapped" once in the other circle in the space of a configuration; the space and configuration of this topological property is not trivial. Since 1973, the Nielsen-Olesen vortex has been named in honor of its theorists: Holger Bech Nielsen and Poul Olesen.
