Juan de Garay Otañez y Rada, or Otañes, (Madrid 1586 - 1650) was viceroy of Catalonia (1648-1650) and captain general of Catalonia from 1649 to 1650. Of Basque family, his father was from Sopuerta and her mother from Portugalete.

He was the supreme military commander of at least three armies: those of Extremadura, Guipuzcoa and Catalonia.

He is considered a key man of Philip IV during the Reapers War
