KWOC is the abbreviation of Key Word Out of Context. It is a variation on the KWIC (Key Word In Context) technique for automatically generating indexes or concordances. In a KWOC index, the meaning words (keywords) are listed separately, outside their context, and not in the same way as in a KWIC index.
