Marvin Sonsona (July 25, 1990) is a Filipino professional boxer. On 5 September 2009, Sonsona won the World Cup title title in a title fight against Jose Lopez from Puerto Rico. He became the second youngest Philippine boxer who conquered a world title. Only Morris East was 9 days younger when he conquered the WBA world title super lightweight on 9 September 1992. Other Philippine boxers who conquered their first world title at the nineteenth were Ben Villaflor and Manny Pacquiao. Villaflor was 19 years and 5 months when he won his WBA World title in 1972 and Pacquaio was 19 years and 11 months in win of his first world title in 1998. However, he had only the world title. On November 20 he wrote against challenger Alejandro Hernandez. Although the duel ended in a tie, he lost his world title because he had proved to be heavy before the duel started.
On 27 February 2010, Sonsona opposed the ruling WBO world champion superbantamweight and undefeated Wilfredo Vázquez, Jr. However, he did not succeed in conquering and losing a knockout in the 4th round. Results
