To the bones

To the bones is a short film of 2001 made by the filmmaker René Castillo.

The short film alludes to death in a funny way, characteristic of the Mexican. A man dies (with the voice of Bruno Bichir) and descends to the world of the dead, where he is received with a bohemian party by a worm, calacas smiles and the very Catrina who sings him sensually. After a while of fun and flirting, the man discovers that, after all, being dead is not so bad.

Its production lasted more than 3 years, and its single filming was of year and a half; it took around 15 thousand movements of the more than 70 characters that compose this short film of eleven minutes, in the music highlights the participation of Café Tacuba and the performance of Eugenia León.

This short film is the most expensive in the history of animation in Mexico with a cost of about 3 million pesos.
