Home Banking

Home banking or Online Banking is the service by which bank transactions can be executed by electronic means specifically through private or public networks such as the Internet. Its name comes from the possibility of making transactions from home (Home) and not having to personally attend a bank (Bank).

In order to make use of this service, the financial institution provides different types of access to its computer systems, which allow it to validate the identity of a client and thus allow the use of its services, which in general are limited for reasons of security, against the transactions that can be done personally in the financial institution.

Usually in a Home Banking service you can make balance inquiries, request extracts or account summaries, transfers between accounts of the same financial institution or to third parties, and track transactions. In some cases some entities offer more sophisticated and specialized services such as currency exchange, international transfers between banks, or more commonly request and approval of credits.
