New World Records


New World Records is an American record label, which is specialized and American repertoire. It is located in New York City.

The label was founded in 1975 with a fund from the Rockefeller Foundation to preserve American music culture for posterity. It did not look at the profitability of the issue, but much more about what a recording could contribute to America's history of music. There were recordings of all genres, just like the United States. So came jazz albums, electronic music, Indian music and classical music, as well as combinations of them. It released about 400 albums in 2009.

In 2006, the catalog was expanded with the recordings of the record label CRI, Composers Recordings, Inc.), a similar label that was financially included. Some compact discs also show elpee editions, previously it was the other way around.
