Trash Act

The Act of Traso appears interspersed in act XIX of the Tragicomedy of Callisto and Melibea (La Celestina) in the impression of Toledo of 1526, although it is usually suppressed of the modern editions. In it it narrates the intervention of Traso, personage absent in all the work and only mentioned by Centurio in act XVIII, that sends it to entertain and to disturb the third encounter of lovers, thus avoiding its mission entrusted by Areúsa and Elicia to kill to Calisto. The fragment is brief; Traso only maintains a fleeting conversation with Sosia, who frightens him with his weapon, revealing the weak personality of the executioner. In the edition of Valencia only the threatening and at the same time burlesque replicas of Sosia are printed.
