Carlos Goyén


Carlos Mario Goyén Prieto (Montevideo, August 14, 1955) is a former Uruguayan footballer who played as an archer.

It is one of the greatest idols in the history of Independiente, where he played 210 games between 1981 and 1985, considered a safe and confident goalkeeper, thanks to the experience of basketball that he practiced in childhood. He started at River Plate in Uruguay, where he came to the national team, drawing the attention of the "red" leaders. He won three titles: an Argentine championship in 1983 and the following year, the seventh Libertadores and the second Intercontinental of the club, in a match against Liverpool where he had one of his most outstanding performances. He finished his professional career at Atlético Rafaela Clubs
