José Joaquín Chaverri Sievert


José Joaquín Chaverri Sievert is Costa Rican career ambassador, current Ambassador of his country in Germany.

He was born in San José, Costa Rica, on August 30, 1949. His parents were Adrián Chaverri and Luisa Sievert.

He studied at the Humboldt School and the Seminary College in San José and periodisimo at the University of Costa Rica. He entered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship on August 1, 1971. He has held various diplomatic positions at the Ministry's headquarters, including those of Press Director, Director of Worship and Director of the Diplomatic Institute. He was Ambassador of Costa Rica in Germany from 1987 to 1990 and in 2010 he was reappointed to that position, which he assumed in 2011. He has also been a delegate of Costa Rica in numerous General Assemblies of the United Nations and the OAS and in multiple international meetings. . From 2003 to 2006 he served as Director General of Foreign Policy.

He has published numerous articles on international issues and is a contributor to several newspapers.
