Hugo Vickers


Hugo Ralph Vickers, better known as Hugo Vickers, (November 12, 1951) is a writer, broadcaster and lecturer based in Great Britain. He specializes in biographies and is an expert on the British royal family.His book The Kiss won the 1996 Stern Silver Pen Award. As a broadcaster, he frequently appears on CNN's Larry King Live and in different programs in Canada, Australia and New Zealand. ; his presence is much sought after by different stations whenever there is an event related to royalty such as the wedding of Prince Charles with Diana Spencer in 1981, the wedding of Prince Edward with Sophie Rhys-Jones in 1999, the centenary of the Queen Mother Isabel in 2000, as well as the funerals of Princess Diana in 1997 and of the Queen Mother in 2002.

He has served as the literary executor of Sir Charles Johnston and Sir Cecil Beaton; member of the organizing committee of the celebrations for the silver jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II; president of the fund for the Jubilee Walkway, to celebrate the golden jubilee of Elizabeth II; and historical advisor for the movie The King's Speech, among other things.
