XII Alfonso

XII Alfonso or Douze Alfonso is a French music group from Bordeaux, which has been active since 1995.

The band around the Claerhout brothers plays music that is largely part of progressive rock, but their albums are not caught by a denominator. For example, the album The Last Frontier is pure progressive rock, but the two albums devoted to Claude Monet's life are too experimental. The band says itself to be influenced by music by Mike Oldfield, but that applies mainly to the early albums, with the musical influences of Camel being audible. XII Alfonso regularly invites guests to play with their albums and concerts. Mickey Simmonds, members of Minimum Vital and Ian Bairnson (from Pilot) already played. The series about Claude Monet has been announced as trilogy, but only two parts have been released. Discography Externe link
