Diego the Perote


Diego Beigveder Morilla was a flamenco cantaor born in Alora (Malaga) in 1884 and died in Malaga in 1980. Artistically known as Diego the Perote, and also El Pijín. It emphasized above all in the song of the malagueñas in its diverse modalities. Biography

Before singing he had worked in the field as a shepherd and a farmer. He began working in the world of cante in 1904 in Café España de Málaga. For his peasant past he began with the cante de treña.
