A large-scale disease is an archdiocese that is ranked by a patriarchal and archdiocese on the basis of the granted constitutional jurisdiction. The name is used in the Eastern Catholic churches. At the head of a large-scale disease is a big-scale bishop.

There are four major missions in the Eastern Catholic churches: In 1963, the Archdiocese of Lviv was transformed into a large-scale disease. In 2004, the headquarters was established in Kiev and changed its name to Kiev-Galicia. In 2005 the archdiocese Făgăraş şi Alba Iulia was transformed into a large-scale disease. In 1992, Archdiocese Ernakulam was converted into a large-scale disease and its name was changed to Ernakulam-Angamaly. In 2005, the Archdiocese Trivandrum was transformed into a large-scale disease.
