Hr.Ms. White Sea (1939)


The Hr.Ms. White Sea (HMV 1) was a Dutch buoy ship. The ship was built as IJM 167 by the German shipyard Reichswerft in Wilhelmshaven. The ship was advanced due to the mobilization of the mobilization on August 29, 1939. After the ship was converted to bucket ship 1, it was commissioned on September 19, 1940.

The White Sea was one of a total of ten trawlers advanced in August / September 1939. The other nine trawlers were: Amsterdam, Aneta, Azimuth, Alkmaar, Bloemendaal, Ewald, Hollandia, Maria R. Ommering and the Walrus.

After the fall of the Netherlands, the White Sea was employed by the German forces. During the Second World War the ship was lost.
