Literature (magazine)

Literature: Journal of Dutch Literature was a Dutch popular scientific journal of Dutch and Flemish literature. Historical and contemporary writers, literature and affairs were discussed.

The magazine appeared once every two months between 1984 and 2004 (from 2003 eight times a year). It was originally issued in Utrecht, but in 1994 the office was transferred to Amsterdam (Amsterdam University Press). In 2004, Amsterdam University Press decided to discontinue the issue and tried to find another publisher. The Product Fund was prepared to invest in the form of an operating grant. The magazine then counted 1,300 subscribers and 1200 trial subscribers and the single sale was 500 copies. At the end of 2005, De Groene Amsterdammer attempted to revive the magazine as a quarterly literary appendix (and for the single sale) under the name The Green Amsterdammer. Literature. However, in June 2006, this project was stopped by De Groene again and died a silent death.
