Puerto Varas Station


Puerto Varas, is a station located in the Chilean commune of Puerto Varas, in the Los Lagos Region, which is part of the Southern Trunk Line. It is located near Lake Llanquihue. It is located in front of the Gran Hotel and Casino of Puerto Varas, built by the State Railways, to promote tourism, and today it is being remodeled. It was the terminal station of the Los Lagos Rapid, until 1996, and it had Autotrén Service. In 2005 the station was remodeled, and a Cultural Hall was inaugurated, where exhibitions are held. On December 6, 2005, the Regional Victoria-Puerto Montt was inaugurated, between Temuco and Puerto Montt. On March 27, 2006, the service was extended to Victoria. As of October 2, 2006, the Osorno - Puerto Montt Service resumes. As of today 2016, there are no passenger or cargo rail services that stop or pass through the station. Since the disappearance of the cargo terminal in Puerto Montt, no train passes from the Frutillar station to the south. Current services
