Ewald Romeo Cornelis Grot (Paramaribo, June 13, 1955) is a poet and writer of Suriname.
Grot traveled to the Netherlands in 1972, where he worked as a social worker. Until 1985 he lived in the Netherlands in 1973 where he debuted with "I". This first collection of poems was followed only by scattered works in Sranan and Dutch. His novel "Georgette mi Lobi" (Georgette mi amor, 1987) is not structurally stronger than a chain of events for a couple of young people who experience holidays near Albina in the context of the early years after the coup of 1980, but a remarkable account as the first independent publication in Sranan language since Temekoe of Edgar Cairo published in 1969.
