José Antonio de Echávarri


José Feliz Antonio de Echávarri, (May 18, 1789, Gordejuela, Spain - June 15, 1834, Philadelphia, United States) Founding member of the Trigarante army during the last stage of the war of independence. Biography

He was baptized on May 19, 1789 in the Parish of San Juan del Molinar, in Gordejuela (Gordexola) Spain. Son of Don Juan Antonio de Echávarri and Diez de Sollano and Francisca Aldai de Sasia. He arrived in New Spain by the year 1816, and joined the royalist army.

He had at least three children out of wedlock with the great-granddaughter of the Marquises of Uluapa, Mrs. María Rosa Filomena Mateos and Díaz (1806-1863):
