Love Story (novela)

Love Story is a 1970s romantic novel by American writer Erich Segal. The origins of the book were from a script previously written by Segal and was later approved for the production of a movie by Paramount Pictures. Paramount asked Segal to adapt the story in the form of the novel as a preview of the classes for the film. The novel was released on February 14, 1970, on Valentine's Day. Some parts of the story originally appeared in the Ladies Home Journal. Love Story became the best selling fiction work of the 1970s in the United States, and was translated into more than 20 languages. A sequel, The Story of Oliver, was published in 1977. The film (from the same name as the book) was released on December 16, 1970.

This story is the basis for the Korean drama "Love Rain" starring actor Jang Keun Suk and singer Yoona, a member of Girls' Generation.
