Timişoara Zoo

Bucharest Zoo (Romanian: Grădina Zoologică din Timişoara) It is a zoological park of 6.34 hectares (15.7 acres) in Timişoara, Romania, located to the northeast of the city near the "Green Forest". It was opened in 1986 with 30 species of animals, mostly local from Romania.

The zoo was opened to the public in 1986, and was home to about 30 species, most of which were native to Romania. It was originally managed by the "Autonomous Horticulture Management", which eventually became a trading company.

In its early years, the zoo was poorly managed, and in order to remedy this situation, the city acquired the land in 2002 and began a feasibility study on updating the zoo. The zoo was closed to the public in autumn 2004 for renovation and improvement with the intention of meeting European standards, the renovation was completed in 2007, and the zoo opens again on June 1 of that year. >
