Coronille (fruit)

The coronilla is a tropical yellow fruit, round or oval, with a taste resembling that of guava, maracuja and passion fruit.

This is the fruit of the Costa Rican Guava (Psidium friedrichsthalianum Ndz.).

Since 2006, the coronille has been of interest to the agri-food industry. Thus, a new ice cream with coronilla available in supermarkets has been launched recently. The fruit has indeed interesting assets: its particular taste on the one hand but also, especially, its high content of vitamin C, twelve times higher than for the orange and three times more than for the guava. edit code
