Mount Gjeita (in Norwegian, Gjeitafjell) or Mount Banfield according to the Australian cartography, is the highest summit (1700 m) of the Hansen Mountains, in Antarctica, approximately 3 miles east of Brusen Nunatak. Named by Norwegian cartographers who worked based on aerial photographs taken during the Lars Christensen Expedition of 1936-1937, it is also called Mount Banfield, in honor of GA Banfield's flight, a member of the Royal Australian Air Force from Mawson Base in 1959 .
