Readability test


Since 2005, the European Medicines Agency (EMEA) has made a readability test mandatory to pharmacists. By means of a readability test, the pharmacist must demonstrate that the leaflet is understandable and clear to the people who use the medication. Readability tests serve to protect the user. Users should consult the package leaflet to make safe and accurate decisions about their drug use. The test per se does not improve the leaflet, but gives a clear indication as to whether the leaflet is unambiguous and on which points the package leaflet could be improved. Components
