The Taiwanese Communist Party (in Japanese: 台湾 共産党; Traditional Chinese: 台灣 共產黨; Taiwanese: Tâi-oân Kiōng-sán-tóng; Pinyin: Táiwān Gòngchǎndǎng) was a revolutionary organization active in the Taiwan island then occupied by Japan. The party only existed about three years (1928-1931); its policy and activities have been influential in defining Taiwan's anti-colonial policy. For a short time after the Second World War, its members continued to play a role in anti-Kuomintang activities, most notably in the aftermath of Incident 228 of 1947.
