Kamateró

This article is a draft concerning a city in Greece.

Kamateró (Modern Greek: Καματερό) is a city and an ancient edema of the northwestern suburbs of Athens, Greece. In 2001, it had 22,234 inhabitants.

If the area seems to have been occupied since prehistory, the name of Kamateró is not mentioned by Byzantine sources and only appears late.

A battle took place in 1827 during the Greek War of Independence. She was the only philhellene. Constantin Denis Bourbaki perished there.
