Medical and Surgical School of Lisbon


The Lisbon School of Medico-Surgery was an institution of higher education in medicine and pharmacy in Lisbon (Portugal), created in 1836 by the Manoel Passos government, through the transformation of the Royal College of Surgery.

It taught medicine and pharmacy in the city of Lisbon since its founding until 1911; the institution was later transformed into the Faculty of Medicine (pt); It was followed by the teaching of pharmaceutical sciences until 1918. This school is the direct ancestor of the current Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon. code
