The Covarona

La Covarona is a prehistoric cave located in the district of Llueva, in San Miguel de Aras, in the municipality of Voto in Cantabria (Spain). Its name comes from the Basque "Coba" (cave) and "ona" (good).

This cave houses several groups of schematic-abstract paintings, mostly made up of marks and dots. Beneath them there is a deposit of coals and bones between which appeared an iron point, in addition to having appeared in the lobby a fragment of Iron Age pottery and small dimples of charcoal inside.
