Argul

Argul is a German historical brand of motorcycles.

The company name was: Arwed Gulentz, Argul Motorradbau, Cologne.

One of the hundreds of brands that came to market in Germany in 1923 was Argul. Like the many competitors, lightweight, cheap motorcycles were built for which the 146- to 198cc-built-in engines were purchased from DKW, Kurier, Alba, Bubi and other brands. Production levels remained low: a dealer network could not be built and a clientele did not exist: alone in Cologne and the surrounding area were dozens of other brands. Probably the customers who were there could therefore choose from the available engines. In 1926, production ceased, with Argul maintaining it for a year longer than more than 150 other small German brands.
