LynxOS


LynxOS does not refer to the operating system for the Atari Lynx game console.

LynxOS RTOS is a LynxWorks (formerly "Lynx Real-Time Systems") real-time operating system.

The first versions of LynxOS were created in 1986 in Dallas, Texas, for a Motorola 68010 processor. In 1988-89, a version of LynxOS that was made for an Intel 80386 architecture.

In 1989, compatibility with SVR3 was added to the system, and later, Linux compatibility. Nowadays, LynxOS also works on other architectures, including ARM, MIPS and PowerPC.
