National Democratic Party (Tibet)

The National Democratic Party of Tibet (Tibetan: བོད་ ཀྱི་ རྒྱལ་ མང་ མང་ གཙོ་ ཚོགས་ པ ་) is one of the major political parties formed in Tibetan exile. formed in 1994 by Tibetan students who organized after the 1990 Tibetan Youth Congress. The group seeks Tibet's independence from China, which runs counter to the official position of the Dalai Lama and the Tibetan government in exile who officially adhere to the policy of "middle point" (autonomy for Tibet still being part of China, similar to Hong Kong). Hold workshops on democracy and human rights among Tibetan communities and settlements abroad. The group organized several of the protests against China at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
