National Science Fund

The National Science Fund is a former funding institution for French scientific research.

The National Science Fund was created, along with the National Fund of Letters, by the Finance Act of April 16, 1930, as a public institution with financial autonomy and civil personality, within the Ministry of Public Education.

Its mission was to award scholarships to young science researchers.

From 1933, scholarships are awarded by the Higher Council for Scientific Research, set up by the Minister of National Education.

The National Science Fund was brought together with the Scientific Research Fund on October 30, 1935 to create the National Fund for Scientific Research.
