Degasser

The degasser in a boiler refers to the power supply deaerator tank. This tank has 3 main functions in a boiler:

A deaerator is a device that removes O2 from boiler feed water (BFW) as oxygen is highly corrosive in steam circuits.

Thermodynamically, it is a device that generates one or more equilibrium steps by contacting a saturated solution of O2 and a pure vapor stream. The chemical equilibrium shifts O2 from the saturated liquid stream to the pure vapor stream to meet y (vap) = H * x (liq) (Henry or equivalent)
